Our number one commitment at A Call for Help is to answer 2-1-1 calls providing quality information and referral for all callers. We continuously improve and annually fully audit our resource database of health and community services provided by non-profit, critical for-profit, and government organizations in the 19-counties of West Central Texas.
The Texas Veterans Commission was created in 1927 as the State Service Office to assist veterans of the Indian wars, Spanish-American War and World War I. Our purpose has always been to act as the state appointed advocate of Texas veterans as they attempt to secure the benefits rightfully earned in exchange for their service in our nation's armed forces.
The caring responders at the Veterans Crisis Line are specially trained and experienced in helping Veterans of all ages and circumstances. Some of the responders are Veterans themselves and understand what Veterans and their families and friends have been through and the challenges Veterans of all ages and service eras face.
Ads4Next is an online billboard that empowers NEXT generation leaders to earn money for college. As a social enterprise, we use prize-linked advertising and youth business leadership training to fund College Savings Accounts.
City and Rural Rides is a rural public transit service operated by Central Texas Rural Transit District. Transportation is available to the general public in our service area. The Texas Association of Community Action Agencies, Inc. provides a unified voice to Community Action Agencies and operates programs to increase the capacity of organizations to serve low income Texans.
Providing High School Equivalency Prep and English as a Second Language classes in Parker, Palo Pinto, and Wise Counties. Also, helps pay tuition for an HSE student to concurrently attend a CNA course at Weatherford College.
