Cornerstone Community Action Agency is proud to once again offer FREE tax preparation assistance. Through our Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program, trained volunteers are able to process your tax return…for free!

What exactly is VITA?

VITA is an initiative sponsored by the IRS. The purpose of VITA is to provide free income tax preparation assistance for those with low to

moderate incomes, as well as those in rural areas. IRS certified volunteers will prepare your return for you for absolutely free. Many of our VITA volunteers have years of tax preparation experience, and are passionate about helping their fellow community members with their taxes.

Why should I use VITA for my taxes?

It’s 100% free! You pay nothing to the tax preparer or CCAA to access VITA services, and to have your return prepared. Many tax preparation companies may promise a rapid refund; however, these refunds often include costly fees. Additionally, these rapid returns are often in the form of high interest loans. You could end up paying quite a bit of money if you use these types of services instead of VITA.

Where and when do I go?

The following locations will be available on February 2024 until April 2024 to file your 2023 tax return.
